What is the Northeast Missouri Drug-Free Communities Taskforce?
The NEMO DFC was formed in 2022 following the Adair County Opioid Coalition receiving a grant through the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention that would work to provide education and resources to the community regarding substance use and mental health concerns. The coalition then transitioned into a new name and look that would encompass the mission of serving Adair and Schuyler Counties as well as other counties in the surrounding Northeast Missouri area to carry through with the goals and mission of the coalition.
The Drug-Free Communities Grant Program is a competitive grant available to community based coalitions with a mission of reducing youth substance use and improving quality of life for their citizens.
Local, state, and national data is utilized to better understand what substances are an issue for our community, and how we can utilize available resources to provide positive community and school changes. 2022 Missouri Student Survey data can be found here.
